Getting ready to retire and live in RV fulltime.
Not sure that I want to live full-time, but right after retirement I'd like to take a year-long road trip in one. There's just so much cool shite to see in this country. Plus, I don't much care for extreme temperatures one way or the other. I could go up north in the summer, then SoCal, Arizona, South Texas, or the Keys in the winter. There's all kinds of public land to boondock on out west that doesn't cost a dime.

My plan is similar.
I have kids and grandkids still here so i will come back every few months for special times like birthdays and/or holidays. My son is going to pour me a slab with power, water and septic to park on when i visit.
You are right. There is so much to see its almost overwhelming. Went to Gatlinburg last October and I will say that I could do a month there in the fall.
