think i got so used to X/PS5 running 4k/60ish that i want some games to look ridiculous, and some to play great..

I think framerate. If you're not playing some Myst type game, you're not going to notice the varied color on the lily pad when people are launching grenades at you.
I just ran a test on Cyberpunk, my 4k framerate averaged 5.82FPS (5600X, RX580+, 64GB RAM,) and it would be totally unplayable. But, I have had zero issues playing 108 hours of it at whatever preset it selected, and probably wouldn't know the difference.
