JBE was going to allow them to build anywhere in Louisiana. I assume Bucees knew this and the timing of the original Ruston announcement was probably an extra frick you to that administration who was going to term out before they could stop its development.


This is correct. They decided to skip over Louisiana entirely soon after jbe got elected 8 years ago due to shady politics

I’m hearing that the Lafayette location is still being pursued as well currently

In Lafayette, the area where I-10 and I-49 meet would be a smart location to put a Buc-ee's. That location would rake in the money.
