Yes. It sucks, but people would sue and you know it.

Our district is supplying all students with glasses and making it an excused absence if kids stay home to watch with their family Monday.

What?

This idea just seems funny to me. I can't imagine, when I was in school, suggesting to my mom staying home from school because of an eclipse.

I want to say there was an eclipse in the mid 90s maybe? For some reason I think I was a freshman in HS so 1993-94? I remember people who were in science class at a certain time got to go out to see it or some shite.

I don't think it was a total solar eclipse, but I remember one time there was a hurricane hitting Louisiana. The weather was pretty bad, we went to school and then school was canceled a few hours later when the weather was worse.. Today school is canceled if there is supposed to be some bad thunderstorms.

I seriously feel like an old man, some of the shite that is done today blows my mind. I understand the safety components of it, but it also makes these kids so sensitive. Everything is a big deal.

Aren't you in an area that will get the total eclipse or pretty close to it?
