Probably due to inflation
Yeah, I remember those 39 cent McDonald’s cheeseburgers. Single patty deliciousness.
4 bucks could score me 10 on the walk home from school. What a steal.

Thats not what I said at all. I said everyone's cost of living will go up as a result of government forcing employers to overpay for labor. This a 100% certainty
You believe your wage as a non fast food worker will stay stagnant…in this scenario?
Apologies if you are a fast food worker, I don’t mean to presume..

I do too, they cost $4.00 here now, but its been over 30 years since we've seen inflation like we have over the past two years.
Its not just labor, but expense increases across the board.

Agreed.
I don’t see many fast food places in Cali closing due to increased prices. The same people who buy that Big Mac, will most likely continue to do so even at a higher price…so long as they can bemoan doing so on social media.

I bought 4 burger patties for $7 and some change on Monday and some King's Sweet Hawaiian buns for $3.49 and made some killer burgers in about 12 minutes on the grill Monday.
I didn't get the same adrenaline rush of sitting my obese arse in the BK drive through to buy a $15 value meal - but good nonetheless.

But at least the fry cook will now be able to afford some new spinning rims

What do you care how people spend their money?

There went the gain in income made by the employed hourly workers since they are the ones eating fast food.

Where are you getting this from what I said?
What I'm saying is that whatever wage benefit anyone gets, it will be offset by the rising cost of living.

Just laying off workers.
Businessmen are smarter than politicians by a long arse shot. They will adjust, its the workers and customers who will pay.

Looks like Progressives are at war with poor poeple.
The entire platform is to keep poor people poor. Especially minorities unfortunately, it guarantees a voting base. Progressives and modern liberals are not for the poor and middle class people, neither are RINOS.

Poverty is power to a progressive politician.
There is no incentive for them to fix it. They gain power from dysfunction.

Every business is different. Some will cut hours. Some will lay off. Some will close altogether. Some will cut other expenses. Some will freeze hiring needed help and put more on the current employees since they're the ones making more. Some will buy cheaper low quality ingredients and pass costs to the customer in that way.
This really sucks for me personally because it will drive more people to move here from California.

11 of which was in the USA. Surely they can afford to pay their employees more, saying otherwise is absurd.
How much profit in Cali? Franchise owners work on super slim margins. Almost 100% of this wage hike will be passed in to customers or people will lose their jobs to automation.
Looked it up. This wage hike will wipe out all profits for all McDonalds franchises.

Yes. Its the franchisee that will get squeezed more than anyone.
