It won’t be NIL, it’ll be endorsements. Both girls have contracts with national brands. So obviously the Gordon McKernan deals won’t follow but the Reebok & Addidas deals can.

Aliyah Boston echoed a similar sentiment recently with people assuming going to the WNBA equals a paycut from NIL.

That's not the only factor, they also don't have to worry about class or grades anymore and can focus on other ventures. Dawn Staley was a college HC in the WNBA offseason while she was still playing, Boston does broadcasting for NBC in the offseason.

The one thing that is true though is that womens college hoops gets more viewership so if visibility is important to them then college has that advantage.

The problem is that in college, Reese and HVL are names people know and they get lots of airtime due to being on LSU.

In the WNBA, they will not get the individual recognition, unless they dominate the league, and beyond that the viewership will not be as great. I think I saw 12 million watched the Iowa game this year.

Reebok isn't paying you to wear there shoes...they are paying so you wear them when 12 million people are watching you. I don't think 12 million are watching the WNBA, but maybe I'm wrong.
