Because UPS and FedEx will not deliver to backwater Arkansas or Alaska. The whole country including non profitable places have to be serviced. How many small towns have a UPS or FedEx store?

That’s bullshite.
I work for an environmental compliance firm and we use fedex ground, uline, etc to ship things to some of the most remote areas of Arizona, NM, etc you can imagine
Just today I ordered a 55 gallon hazardous waste drum to be delivered to a site in Kayenta, AZ.
