I seem to use it more in spurts pending working on something else. for instance i use it mostly for printing single use tools, jigs, enclosures/boxes/panels for electronics projects, tool organization, basically any one off or specialized plastic thing that would be useful that I either cant otherwise obtain for cheap or need in a pinch. for instance, most recently i needed to cut a certain size hole in something. instead of buying a hole saw in a size that i would likely rarely use again and have to wait for it to arrive, i just printed a jig for my router to cut the hole the exact diameter i needed.

I have a few Bambus. Recently moved away from Prusas. Highly recommend them. Cut a lot of the tinkering/printing parts for the printer and got me back into print farming. Parts are cheap and I can go get them at Microcenter too.
What is your end goal with the printer?
Are you just making toys and knick knacks or do you want to print with "engineering" materials?
You can get the hardened gears and such for the P1S if you want to upgrade later, but the differences between the two are not huge. The bed on the X1C is higher wattage for polycarbonates. If you are just tinkering with PLA for the most part, P1S would be the right call.
As far as 3D printing software, there are lots of training courses on youtube to learn how to use them. If your end goal is to make useful parts, something like Fusion 360 is a really good way to go and more CAD based. If you want more artistic designs, I highly recommend learning Blender from the start and skip shite like tinkercad. It's a huge learning curve, but once you start figuring out the shortcuts and such, you will be a much more capable designer.
