The glory days were roughly 1979-1987.IMO.

Record-wise, for sure. The excitement of CJ and Shaq though extended it some. Games like LSU beating #2 Georgetown in 1988 at the Dome in front of the largest crowd ever to witness a regular season basketball game (college or pro), the Loyola Marymount showdown in 89, and LSU beating the eventual national champion UNLV that same year were about as good as games get. That UNLV team was one of the most dominant ever in the tourney. They beat Duke by 30 in the national championship game. LSU managed to beat UNLV in back-to-back seasons.
