No. I have learned this lesson in life through two avenues: Work and Former Marriage.

I took more money twice at work and completely regretted it. Making less money now, have more autonomy, and I love life.

Ex wife spent every dime she/we had built up for almost two decades and she still isn't happy. Still spends like a drunken sailor to fill the hole and never will.

I moved on, found a great woman that does not have to keep up with the Jones to be happy, and my life couldn't be more perfect. I now easily live within my means, have more extra money than I did when I was with the big spender, and life is good.
