Is this a juvenile rat snake? We've had several mature ones but they're darker around here.

Juvenile Road-striped Adder.

Usually found in areas with river rock and scattered red Oaks. Not usually dangerous unless picked up and handled or threatened with a hoe. When in danger they attract humans who hand out $250.00 fines.

Enjoy observing, but otherwise maintain your distance.

Could be a little baby rat snake too.

We've kept several rat snakes before. At one time we had 4. Ours were all much darker than this snake. They must have been older. Thanks for the help.
