Main problem with most of those people is they went and told EVERYONE they won the lottery. Only people I would tell are the ones I give money too. Rather than lump sum it would be monthly payments. They would have to sign an NDA with certain conditions listed.

In Louisiana they have to disclose who won. From what I understand you can kind of hide it by claiming as a corporation, but people can and will figure it out. You would almost certainly have to leave your home town, I know I would. Too many people know me, can rarely leave the house without running to people that know me and my family.

Read a story a few years ago about a family who won over $100 million. The husband said he would get death threats constantly. People calling and asking for money multiple times per day. He changed his phone number at least 5 times and the last time he changed it, he never gave it out and people were still calling and asking for money.

I believe they ended up changing their names, moving far away, buying a modest home, drove modest cars so no one would question their wealth.

I believe you’re right about filling for a corporation. Most definitely would have to go into hiding for awhile.
