Also makes a difference if 4blade, 3 blade, so on.. lot of variables can change how it will effect your boat. I would just run it and see.
Main thing I’ve always been told to look for is that you can hit the upper RPM ranges at WOT. For example if you can only hit 4800 rpm wide open, it’s not good for the engine. Don’t think you want to be hitting the rev limiter at 3/4 throttle either (as the other extreme).
I’ve always aimed to get somewhere around 5600-6000rpms wide open.

Ideally you'd be right at the rev limiter light boat.
