re: Fish going crazy in Florida Keys. Spinning in circles until they die: what’s going on?

this sounds like what happens occasionally in Mobile Bay. It's called a Jubilee, when large abnormal amounts of fresh water empties into the salt water of Mobile Bay, the sealife -- fish ,crab , and sometimes shrimp become disoriented and become beached. The residents along the coast ring the bells of a Jubilee and go along the coast to scoop everything up.
It's great fun if you happen to be there at the right time.

That actually doesn’t sound like fun at all.
