Season 5 is pretty bumpy as well. First signs of trouble in Dorne. Season 6 I remember most hating until they pulled a pretty awesome final two episodes out of their arse, which were cool but also set up the major issues with the remaining episodes and ending

cleanest way to break it would be to just stop at the S4 finale. Too much fat to cut around after that

I agree with some of this, but there are some decent things with 5/6.

But easily, there is a huge overall drop-off from 1-4 and 5-6 IMO. The rest just needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

Dorne... was that season 5? Yep, the Sand Snakes were the first real "WTF is this shite??" moments in what had been insanely good to that point.
