Does New Orleans or Baton Rouge have tornado sirens? When I lived in Montgomery they had the sirens.

I see what you did there.

Comparing Margaret Orr with a siren, we all remember when she let out this weird sound when she saw a tornado live from one their Skycams.

But back to sirens, I remember when Lafourche Fire district 3 would call its firemen with a siren. They would also run it daily at 6 or 7 pm as a test. It was also useful. As a kid if you heard that siren, your arse better be heading home for dinner. I don’t remember if they ever used it for severe weather. The only tornado I remember on Bayou Lafourche was the one that hit Edison Chouest and Argent Bank in Galliano in 1999. I remember seeing it form in the clouds. By then, I think the fire district switched to pagers. A week or two later, Houma got one a tornado that hit the TG&Y.
