The obvious answer is yes
But I think what you're getting at is that they have no social connections if it's all remote and I do agree that it's different.
I feel a connection to LSU because I attended in person classes there and met many people along the way. If I were to pursue further education in an online only environment I wouldn't feel that same connection. It would just be a means to and end.

This. I met plenty in the corporate world try to relate because they "went to LSU" , but when I talk about LSU Campus or tailgating or tigerland then its.... sorry I went online.
We not the same.

I talk to my classmates every day and we’ve never met. I’ve also worked with people for years and never met them. Does OP suggest we don’t work for the same company?
