Hello

I don't like so many hens. They mess up a hunt before it starts
I sound like the drunk fat girl at closing time on a slate or box call. Need the old boy with a few less options

Haven't seen a male in a while. Used to have huge ones on the camera all the time. Must've all got eat by coyotes and Panthers and such...

Same boat with the call except for me the reeds stuck together on my diaphragm call a couple times and sounded awful. Happens at the worst times too. Even when sounding good and they’re gobbling back the hens are always right there cutting up. Hard to compete with a hen they have eyes on with you trying to outcall the actual hen. They’re gobbling hard but you have to kill them as soon as they hit the ground early otherwise they’ll get henned up fairly quick. Planning on getting about 75 yards from the roost in the morning well before light and see what happens. I’m in Holmes County, MS hunting and we haven’t noticed a decline at all with birds

We finally have a bunch of two year olds. Pretty sure some are going to die Monday

Soak em in water, then carefully separate the reeds with a flat toothpick.

Did it last night with a little mouthwash mixed in for a couple minutes then put in fridge right after. All 3 of my mouth calls were good to go. The turkeys however were not good to go. I thought it’d be perfect after the rain late into the night yesterday but didn’t even think about the wind. 15-20 mph. Heard one shock gobble to a crow probably 150 yards and then silence for the rest of the morning

Looks like my cell phone pictures during deer season. Now, not so much.
Spent the last three days getting humbled in South Texas. First time I’ve ever been shutout. Howling wind didn’t help, but several times I called one in super close and couldn’t close the deal. Sort of like they answered the phone but wouldn’t agree to go out on a date. I can also say with certainty that if a real hen shows up during the flirtations, your rubber hen doesn’t stand a chance.

Just got in from scouting, this wind in N Texas is no joke today. Hopefully it lays down for next weekend.

Been seeing them all fanned out in the fields... As I drive around bringing kids places. I'm sure they'll be done with that by the time the season starts here.
