Should I fly United or American Airlines. Both use Airbus and Boeing planes.
I'm not loving the safety record of US airline companies over the past few months
I used to be of the opinion that flying beat the shite out of driving and flew everywhere. After 9/11 If it was less than a 4 hour drive driving was quicker because of security plus flight time on both ends. That number grew to around 6 hours...I am now at 12. If I can drive it in 12 I ain't putting up with the bullshite at airports and airlines. I still fly a good bit for work and the numbers of times I have shown up for a domestic flight 2 hours before boarding without having to run to the gate because security was fricked up and did not have a gate change, some BS delay or flat out cancelation is about 25%. The other 75% of the time its a shite show. Thats not getting into the BS that airlines do while in flight. Every time I go to the airport I am amazed that folks will tolerate the bullshite. Apparently most of y'all love it because the damned things are full to bursting.
The low cost, no frills airlines have a reputation for being lousy and it is well earned. The problem is the "real" airlines ain't measurably better, they are just 3 times as expensive.

You sound miserable. I fly very often. I arrive one hour before any domestic flight, check my bag, zip through Pre-Check and board with Group 1. Rarely is there an issue. Planes are mechanical so you should expect an occasional delay to fix the issue. It should be noted that every time a plane lifts off, flies 30,000 feet in the air and then lands safely is a modern miracle. An absolute feat of engineering. Yet, morons will bitch about the internet being down. Amazing. What do the airlines do in flight that is so terrible? Serve your spoiled arse drinks?

That's me brother. And if time allows I'll drive further than 12. No bag fees, no TSA, I can eat what I want when I want, the benefits are endless outside of time.
