I am pretty sure where you slot your SSD on the mobo can potentially impact GPU performance, but a 4060 GPU shouldn't even come close to saturating a gen 4 PCIE lanes even if the SSD is taking 8 of them away.

PCI Express Configurations ‡ Up to 1x16+4, 2x8+4
Max # of PCI Express Lanes 20
so, based on that math, GPU takes 16 and an SSD can take 4..I think in my older machine, i overcrowded with SSD and it took away from the GPU..
this part, is all new to me
