This is looking like sloppy management of maintenance maybe combined with a blind DEI eye for incompetence.

Airlines are cutting corners on maintenance, and hiring unqualified DEI candidates to perform what little maintenance they are doing.

And even if the maintenance techs are not DEI, airlines (along with other industries) are forcing out older, more experienced techs and replacing them with younger, less experienced people who can't seem to concentrate or pay attention to small details.

It's DEI
It's greedy corporations
It's incompetent young people
It's the horrible training of young people
It's a paid off government that doesn't know how to properly regulate

It's all of the above. Yet, nothing will ever change because people want to pick and choose sides, instead of realizing the entire system is collapsing.

It’s mostly corporate greed, not DEI. Every US airline outsources some percentage of their maintenance to MRO facilities in other countries.

The airline execs aren’t doing that for the diversity they do it because it’s cheap.

Airline corporate folks love to spout about how safety is the number one priority, it isn’t. It’s profits.

90% of the airline front office employees have never worked in the operation and have little clue on what that type of work is.

Not only is it cheaper work, it’s taking jobs away from US workers.
