I would think most kids today don't know who Popeye is since cartoons have changed so much over the years.

I'm way old enough to remember Popeye and crew and tried a couple times to watch the Robin Williams/Shelly Duval movie version and just couldn't get past 1/2 hour of it before turning it off.

I know for sure I'd not be interested in another version of Popeye, especially with the way Hollywood is imposing their woke agenda in many movies today.

Popeye is one of the most iconic cartoons in animation history.

Popeye has been around since the 30s and during WW2 was more popular than Mickey Mouse.
