SEC Gymnastics Championship - Questions for going

Thinking of taking the kids on Saturday night. We've never been to a gymnastics meet before.
1) Considering they do their routines in various places on the floor, is one area of the arena better to sit in than other places?
2) Will this sell out, or could we buy tickets when we arrive? The cheap tickets are $25 each but for 4 of them, the frauds at ticketmaster are adding $40 in fees.

One thing also, I have been doing that's very beneficial to the viewing experience, bring a set of binoculars, helps you catch all the action.

I have read once you get there, it will not be full so you can move around. LSU seats might be sold out but the other schools will not. Best to ask tigerbait357 or dc4lsu.

No chance it sells out.

I would buy the tickets now whether it be TM or seatgeek and then go sit in a section where seeds 5-8 sat in the lower bowl.
I went last year. I was there for like 7 hours to see both sessions. Not doing the 1st session this year, but you want to get there at least an hour before to see their warm up routines.

The ticket covers both sessions, right?
OK, I can see that since LSU is in the night session, the fans from teams in the day session might not stick around.

Is it like football neutral site or bowl games where you can buy tickets from other schools allotments who may not sell as many or be traveling as well as LSU and get better/cheaper seats?

They give an allotment to all teams, but it is more for season ticket holders only, and they are allocated and cut off far in advance of the event. The allotment does not go on sale to the school's general public. It just goes to Ticketmaster.

It covers both sessions. That is why I recommended getting the tickets early.
It was cool seeing the first session, but there was like a 2 hr downtime between sessions. I believe you could leave and come back. It was rough devising ways to entertain the kids.
What was cool was seeing the warmups which took around 90 minutes.

Have they had the tailgate party in the past? Any thoughts on it?

I did not attend the previous tournament in NOLA. I'm not sure if its worth it. It will be a fairly small gathering considering the attendance at the meet. Good news is that you may be able to see the team up close and personal. Your kids will love that.
