It was a few years ago the Congress changed the bankruptcy laws whereas goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooberment debt could not be protected. Prosecutors since have force huge fines and restitutions upon the guilty.
Now, it appears debtors prison is back in play under a different name. If you fail to pay your fine or restitution, they imprison you for contempt of court.
