Maybe back in the day... now they will do a quick EKG in triage, confirm it's not a STEMI and put you back in waiting room.

My elderly parent waited roughly 7 hours in the ER with chest pains.
After looking at him for about 34 seconds they sent him home.
Less than a month later (about 3 weeks ago) he had a pacemaker put in.....
