Glad I was wearing a hard hat one night while roughnecking and tripping pipe. Derrick hand needed help up on the boards and the driller told me to help him so I jumped on the elevators for a ride up in the derrick instead of climbing. This rig had shorter bales "the long arms between the blocks and elevators" than the rig I was used to working on so when I stood up I about knocked myself out hitting my head on the bottom of the hook.

I’ve worn my fair share of them on construction sites and still do from time to time. I had one on today at a data center build.
