I've been registered to vote for almost 39 years and I have never had a summons for any kind of jury duty. I'm not sure how that's possible. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

I have been registered for 37 years and never got a summons until 2013. Specifically on the date Alabama played Notre Dame for the BCS Title. I was told jury selection could last well into the evening. I threatened to walk out if we weren't wrapped up by 30 minutes before kickoff. Fortunately the perp copped a plea and I didn't have to make good on said threat. I've also been summoned twice since then. Once for a murder case but I wasn't selected.

You WILL be serving at least once a year going forward.

I got my first summons less than a year after I turned 18 and registered. I was away at college so I got out of it though.
But I have gotten pulled at least 5 other times, and had to show up twice and sit while the perp made a plea.
If only I was as good at getting lottery numbers as I am getting pulled for jury duty.
