Now that I’m older and learning about WW2 again the eastern front is way more interesting to me.
Obviously growing up in America we learn about midway, pearl harbo, Normandy, battle of the bulge but we don’t spend time on operation Barbarossa, the battle of Moscow, siege of Leningrad, Kursk, Kiev or really any eastern front battle. Just the sheer size, scale and number of men and machines they put into set battles was insane

Kings and Generals YouTube channel has some great videos on the Eastern Front... Very detailed about political and military strategies (or lack thereof).
