You can't just set it and forget. Learn what the actual settings do. You can be on the same body of water and a different day you might need to adjust. Go out on the water with no intentions on fishing after you learn the settings and bring one pole with a big bait. Learn how to find your bait first. Get an idea of depth and angles to cast. Then the rest will come to you

I rarely have to change anything other than depth or range. I get the gain up to where it starts getting cloudy then use color limit to clean it up. Even my 1/32 oz jigs pop. I also use a swivel to get a double image which helps.
