Well let’s see, shall we, since I have a history minor from a land grant university. We were in country technically in ‘64, but truthfully they had been there with the French since ‘58, with “advisors”, SF & CIA. Same could be said of Cambodia & Laos and all SE Asia. We had a heavy footprint post WWII spearheaded out of the Philippines and we had no intentions of losing all that natural resources and land. Communism was the convenient boogeyman in the room.

Absolute fail, if you know that much and that's your takeaway you are an absolute fool, it was about the US trying to stop the spread of communism. Good Lord man
