I am enjoying it more as I continue to play it. The open world is a lot of fun and is rewarding to explore.

It seems that the game gives you a lot of healing options, and most missions I have done so far give you 1 or 2 buddies that can fight with you

I still think shoehorning soulslike mechanics is offputting, so it'd be better if it dropped those mechanics entirely instead of giving you lots of crutches.

Yea this games pretty solid. More soulslite than soulslike but the mechs you mentioned are definitely there. People that make gameplay vids rarely die so i missed all that until starting it yesterday.

Combat is solid. Very similar to Nioh with the stances and ki but way easier imo. Parry windows are kinda big and you can ‘ki pulse’ with a button press, don’t have to time it perfectly. I can’t wait to get more stances to see what all is there.

Probably not going to win best graphics or whatever at the game awards but I think it looks solid visually. 60 fps performance mode and the graphics mode actually looks decent and is playable unlike most. Haven’t tried Ray tracing but that usually isn’t worth the time on console

Went with the Samuel L Jackson preset and made an Afro Samurai
