This is completely false. The first mission statement was put in place in 1925. And "Duty, Honor, Country" was not added to the mission statement until 1998.
Enjoy y'alls manufactured outrage.

So it’s been in the mission statement for 25 years. I say that’s tradition. And since I have a child at West Point I can tell you they aren’t happy about it either.

Makes you wonder if Mr. Reyes "mistyped" the dates on purpose to create outrage. The press release clearly stated it was first added in 1998.
