I mean they were much better this year than they were last year so I’m not sure it’s as obvious as some say. I am going to see what he can do in the transfer portal and next season.

This is his first full recruiting cycle without the cloud of NCAA penalties. If they go .500 again and first round SEC tourney loss again then I’ll be right there with you.

If you've been a fan of LSU basketball for a long time you've seen a lot of mediocre to bad basketball. So you kind of start to pick up on the hallmarks of what that looks like. Brady going from terrible, to great, to terrible, multiple times. Johnson showing zero emotion and refusing to recruit. Jones getting talent...and doing nothing with it. None of those situations ever got much better despite the pleas of "give it more time".

McMahon may turn out to be the best HC LSU has ever had in the history of the program. I hope he does!! And he'll at least get next season to continue a push for it. But in two years there really hasn't been anything to suggest his ceiling at LSU is significantly higher than this. Just seen too much mediocre to bad basketball to know what it looks like.
