y algorithm doesn't show me any of that. It's quite the opposite actually.
You don't know WTF your TikTok algorithm does, how it is designed, or why.

e.g.,

Why is the TikTok app not allowed in China?
Why is the Chinese TikTok, Douyin, not available for download through regular app stores outside of mainland China?

You think the algorithms are the same???

As it pertains to viewing, it's pretty evident what it does on that front. It shows me content based on my viewing habits and occasionally throws different/new content in to see if you're interested. If you are, it'll adjust the content thrown your way. If you aren't it keeps similar content away from your feed.

Anyone who uses the app on a regular basis understands this.

Everyone else who says it's brainwashing tool that only shows leftist/marxist/socialist/etc... propaganda either has never used the app or is being willfully ignorant because there is individual user created content coming from every inch of the political spectrum on the app.

Which is again, is ironic has hell considering how one sided "American owned" social media platforms are in favor of one political ideology.

Based on my consuming of most social media platforms, TikTok has offered the most wide array of content from all walks of life/politics/opinion versus its competitors and it's not particularly close.
