All fundraising that has been done has been for capital improvements. They did get in a bit of a crunch during covid. They were not eligible for PPP because they are a quasi-government entity and not a non-profit (and also too large by PPP standards). But they have since rebounded and paid back all the bonds they had issued before covid.

They had a GoFundMe during that time that got pushed nationally. There was a thread here about it and people here donated to it. They stated they had to have a certain amount of money just to stay open.

I know folks who work there and were furloughed during covid. The entire Space and Rocket Center came within a hair’s breadth of closing down for good. Gifts from space and defense contractors pulled them out of the fire. That kind of thing won’t happen again.
