But at third he scores on a PB or WP or a infield single or a bloop single whereas he doesn't standing on second. The idea that you score just as easily from second as you do from third is flawed.

…and you do understand that it wasn’t a called steal, he read the ball in the dirt and he beat the throw by a mile so yes it was a good decision. The offense is going to need aggressive base running in the sec when the level of pitching increases. Yes, a base hit might have scored him from 2nd, but if he’s on 3rd he has the opportunity to score on a wild pitch
