By the same director as The outsiders (Coppola) but a different author (Grisham), here's one that was almost perfectly adapted from the book:

The Rainmaker

Also, an all-star cast:

Matt Damon
Jon Voight
Danny DeVito
Claire Danes
Danny Glover
Mickey Rourke
Mary Kay Place
Virginia Madsen
Roy Scheider
Dean Stockwell

Probably the best Grisham adaptation ever put on film. Much better and more faithful than The Firm, The Verdict, and the Pelican Brief.

I absolutely love The Rainmaker. It never gets talked about here.
