Jenny was a victim at childhood and it fricked her up. Her friendship with Forest went past love. Where others looked down on him, Jenny always accepted him and cared for him enough to not drag him into her screwed up life because she knew that Forest literally saw no wrong in anything she did.

In a way, she's a bit like Anakin Skywalker.
