That's about 33 lbs for a 250 lb person. Significant but I wouldn't call it a miracle cure.

If you also change your lifestyle, it's significantly more. One friend dropped 85lbs, another is in the 120lb range.

If they can maintain their weight loss, that’s life changing for some people. Also, if more people dropped significant weight, it has to be a net positive for our healthcare system

That’s the problem with averages and their application to individuals.
Certain medications cause weight gain. Specifically, the SSRI class averages a 1lb weight gain. I heard someone explain it more accurately though as “39 people don’t gain any weight, and one person gains 40lbs.”

15% is still also significant. You have pretty major implications on your health by 5-10% weigh drops. The majority of overweight folks could, indeed, fix it with lifestyle changes. Sometimes the medication motivates the change. Sometimes people just depend on the medicine. The former does well. The latter is the reason the average isn’t higher.

That's 3 months, they are losing 10 pounds a month basically, which is impressive.

What? 33 lbs in 12 weeks is almost 3 pounds a week, which some doctors would even categorize as unsafe. I’m not morbidly obese, but I want to lose about 25 lbs. I’m in recovery (drinking) and have not been able to fight sugar cravings at night since I got sober, so I started Ozempic. It’s been 11 days and I’ve lost 4 pounds. I haven’t done anything crazy different with my diet. I just simply can’t eat like I used to. Even my late night snacks, if I do eat them, I can only handle about 1/4th.

That is almost 3 pounds a week. Fat old me is around 250. I may ask my doc about Ozempic,

I'm also 62 so it's gotten a little harder for me to drop weight now, I am not as active as I used to be. (yeah, I'm a fat slob, I know)

My wife lost 77lbs on the shite. Shes to skinny now. She fits in a size small or a 2 and sometimes 4.
She worked really hard and intermediate fasting and working out. She needs to gain about 20lbs back. Fr
