It's where urban message board people ultimately flocked.

College football message boards (especially pre-Trump) were where more conservative people had flocked prior to Reddit, funny enough.

Most subreddits aren't that political, though.

*ETA: Trump/MAGA did have huge subs prior to Charlottesville, right? I only do Reddit in small doses for specific questions.

That, and most political forums are actively cultivated and policed. Pretty easy to be hard left when they don't allow dissenting opinions that are to the right of the hard left.
