Keep an eye on Indiana in the next couple seasons. Beard would be their 1st choice but Wade maybe on the list as well. One of our area coaches is an IU grad, he says word is Woodson is worn out and maybe calling it quits soon.

You have to think Beard is going to be everyone's first choice. But it's hard to look at the potential candidates out there and not think Wade is close to the top of the list. At it's core, what got him fired was "allegedly" providing impermissible benefits. However, the days of needing to have clandestine conversations about "pay for play" are over. It's pretty much out in the open now. So there no real risk of a repeat offense.

Now, is it possible a basketball crazy school could come and dump a truck-full of money at the doorsteps of guys like Bruce Pearl or Nate Oats? Sure. But they are both in good situations. So if I'm an AD under the gun to make a good hire do I go with a mid-major coach who MIGHT be great...or just as likely, might NOT? Or do I go with a guy I've seen win, consistently, at a power conf. program who can only be described as inconsistent in the years before his arrival? And one who has engineered the biggest turnaround in all of college basketball this season at a program that has never been any good.

Wade is going to have interest from big schools. I think the question will be is one of those schools a place were he thinks he can be a big time contender? In other words, I think he's likely stay at McNeese another year if his only options are places like Washington or Vandy
