Main Card
Sean O’Malley vs. Marlon Vera Title Fight
Dustin Poirier vs. Benoit Saint Denis
Michael Page vs. Kevin Holland
Gilbert Burns vs. Jack Della Maddalena
Petr Yan vs. Song Yadong
Undercard
Curtis Blaydes vs. Jailton Almeida
Katlyn Chookagian vs. Maycee Barber
Mateusz Gamrot vs. Rafael dos Anjos
Pedro Munhoz vs. Kyler Phillips
Michel Pereira vs. Michal Oleksiejczuk
Ion Cutelaba vs. Philipe Lins
Robelis Despaigne vs. Josh Parisian
CJ Vergara vs. Assu Almabayev
Joanne Wood vs. Maryna Moroz
really good card from top to bottom... and a card that i think answers alot of questions
does omalley have enough dog in him to beat a guy like chito that hasnt been knocked out
does poirier still have that dog in him
how will an older MVP handle UFC level talent. while holland isnt a top contender he is a guy that can beat anyone on any given night.
how will JDM handle burns? Is he really a contender?
Is yan done?
some really good matchups on the prelims also, almeida vs blaydes, gamrot vs dos anjos especially. Plus you have that cuban guy with the longest reach in UFC history making his debut. He has destroyed the crappy competition he has faced outside of the UFC.
all in all one of the better cards in a while. I hope it lives up to the hype.

Saint Denis is a BAMF, I think he works Dustin.

You also forgot Pereira being Pereira
But yeah, not a bad fight on the main card and the prelims has a lot of intrigue on it

Yeah its a great matchup. Could go either way. Interested to see them side by side I feel like st denis is going to be a good bit bigger. Not sure if I am right on this but I think st denis comes out and tries to overwhelm dustin who is usually a slow starter. If dustin can handle it and get past 2nd round I like his chances.

Great card from top to bottom, I just hope O’Malley loses and poirier wins
Wouldn’t bet on either one of those though

A card that has Petr Yan as the opening fight, followed by a card that had Aljamain Sterling as the opening Fight, not too bad guys.

not calling you out in particular, but I often wonder why so many people want to see omalley lose. seems like a cool dude. I really like the dynamic with him and his coach tim. one of the few 135ers that can put people to sleep consistently.

I can’t believe it’s been basically 4 years since that O’Malley loss. Back during the Covid summer. Mind blown.

You and I might be the only ones on here who like Sugar Sean.

Not to mention he is the only American current UFC Champion.
I understand why some dislike him, but I want to see him beat Vera & then fight Merab next

im guessing it is the tattoos and hair? when I listen to any of his media he seems pretty cool and dedicated. Like I said earlier, I love the rapport that him and his coach have. they basically went from nothing to champ together.
also if you havent seen their skit mocking ryan garcia its funny

That’s fair, and honestly I can’t quite put my finger on why I have such a dislike for him. He’s clearly very talented and great on his feet, his fights are exciting and I definitely tune in when he’s slated to fight, but there’s just something about him I can’t stand
The only thing I can really say for sure is that his short time in the UFC seems like one big push for a ‘star’ to get the belt. He fought nothing but tomato cans, and then lost to Chito… In my opinion, he also lost the Yan fight. It just seems like he’s getting a hell of a push from Dana and the UFC just so they can have someone with a large following holding a belt. I get why they do it for the business but I can see straight through it. I just want to see someone put a hard stop to all this ‘fake’ momentum he has
Just one man’s opinion though, I get why people like this guy, he just ain’t for me

He has 12 fights under the ufc banner and been in since 2018.
He has had some weak fights but also some good opponents. I thought yan won but it was a super close fight and could have went either way and he definitely did the most damage. The chito win was kind of a fluke he was doing well before the freak nerve issue. I did think muhnoz was getting the better of him before the eye poke so was it intentional?
Aljo is the only real solid grappler i remember him facing and that is probably by design. He would be smart to try and face topuria or sandhagen if he gets past chito imo. Merab is gonna be a tough out for him imo, I dont think merab will make the same mistake as aljo… but merab does get hit so who knows.

Who do you have winning on the main card for Saturday?
I did a 5 leg parlay for the 298 card and COMPLETELY whiffed on all of them
I picked volk, costa, neal, kopylov, and for volk/topuria to go over 2 rounds

Haha i do that all the time. Being a big fan makes you bet with emotion sometimes.
Id say
Omalley
Poirier
Holland
Burns
Yadong
But honestly i could make the case for either side.

Sean easily wins this, Chito didn't even deserve the fight.

I do it all the time. Sometimes I try the reverse psychology bet where it’s a win/win and somehow or another that seems to always go wrong as well
O’Malley
St. Denis (reverse psychology)

Hooker had no clue where he was or what was going on

Aljo was on a podcast today and mentioned Chito had a fairly “bad camp” and picked Suga. Something to think about for the bettors.
