It is possible for both scenarios to exist at the same time. I'm just telling you what someone who knows the family and has worked with the players is saying.

His problem is he has always been the best player on his teams and he and his dad can’t accept that he’s not now.
The only mental issue he has is that he can’t accept the fact that he’s not “the straw that stirs the drink” on this team.
They might be playing this up to get a waiver to transfer and be eligible somewhere next year.
