I've seen the signs lots of times when riding up in the mountains of S.E. U.S.

I laugh at the futile attempt to contain them with the side of the hill covered in what looks like large chain link fencing--------like that will hold back an avalanche of any size

Got caught in a small one in a box canyon in Utah many years ago. Dad was driving and sped up to get past a TV sized boulder but we ran over a basketball sized rock in the process. shite is like playing Frogger. The rock knocked out the power steering and damaged the undercarriage of the car. The car was a rental and Dad declined the insurance so we got hit with a massive bill. Moral of the story - keep your eyes on the cliff and get insurance for your rental.

Okay, I watched it with the sound on. How did I not hear unbridled cussing in Spanish from the driver when that happened? How did I not hear him shite himself? Is he mute?

I was on an extended assignment on Maui once and had a cousin come over to visit.

He and his wife wanted to go completely around the island so long past Hana on the way to Charles Lindberg's grave, there were signs saying "Beware of Falling Rocks." Pffftt....scare tactics.

A bit further, we came up on a minivan with a rock about the size of a basket ball that had gone through the windshield, and blood was on the street.

The cousin's wife took one look and said, "OK...I'm done."

We went no further.
