Distribution centers and Supercenters are not the same thing.

Distribution centers are where everything is palletized and loaded on trucks and hauled to the Supercenters and other stores.

Speaking strictly on Walmart. I’ve not been in Amazon DCs. I’ve been in plenty of Walmart DCs.

I wasn't meaning it like that.

What I was talking about is that if you need paper towels, and you order it. Amazon has to ship it out from a Distribution Center. Walmart can ship the same paper towels from a store nearby because it is on the shelf or sitting in the stock area at Walmart. It can be delivered to your house in a matter or hours or minutes. Essentially making each Walmart location potentially a distribution center.

Walmart has an edge here because it has hundreds of stores that can act like last mile warehouses to get you those paper towels in a few hours instead of having to wait for a few days.

Amazon is having to build out facilities that can do this.

Ironically, Amazon should be buying up old Sears and Kmart locations for this.
