As someone mentioned earlier, if you travel having the CCL provides you reciprocity in many other states. If I’m driving I’m always going to have a firearm. If it’s a state that reciprocates I’m going to have a firearm on my person.

Ive only done a little research on this, you'd only need the permit for states without constitutional concealed carry. (Not a lawyer) I think all states with constitutional concealed carry have said it applies to non residents as long as you are able to own a firearm.
