Independent films are definitely possible as well.
Reservoir Dogs was an independent film made for $3 million. There aren't any non-"leftists" that can afford that?

The DEI shite in movies can be annoying, but I think there are other reasons for theaters not being packed, or else venture capitalists would be trying to capitalize on that void.
You can't tell me that all these folks are just passing up on an opportunity to make money if it were that easy.
