I’m not disagreeing with you. I’m asking who do you think would stand behind Johnson at that podium and offer arguments against the bill that could or would justify it to the American people.

From the rough math, it looks like Johnson has a small but important group against the bill and that’s why he can’t accede to the larger caucus.

But who is that small group moves the needle?

Even Hawley and Cruz and Cotton in the Senate who are usually fine with tacking right don’t seem to be too vocal in their opposition. Maybe Rand Paul?

I think a clear obvious visible display of Party unity says a lot.

The Republicans (in Washington) obviously don’t have it and it’s the biggest problem here.
