This stupid MFer wants us to go back to the days of yellow-bellied capitulating, and rallying around "leaders" like McCain and Romney, because it appeases the establishment.

That's going to happen, ultimately. You just believe there is some magical path where it won't.
Again, the DEMs have a safe majority in the Senate and the Presidency. They have the power position and will get more in negotiations for this reason.
What does making the GOP weaker do, exactly? Other than running the risk of this hurting them in November, clearly.
