No. She just sucks. This is the most important case she has ever had. She brought this whale in - and she’s completely screwed it up. So she has to wait for the competent lawyers to do cleanup.
There is absolutely no reason for her to embarrass herself this bad.

It strikes me as she entered this examination thinking he would not be willing to lie/evade to this extent
That she didn't have a plan for him for obfuscating like this is the problem
